Play! By Sephora – Review – February 2017

You will receive 5 deluxe samples and one fragrance bonus for $10. The Sephora Play! box also includes tips a tricks to teach you how to get the most out of these products and also gives you a free one-on-one tutorial in store meetings.

I love the bag this month!

Marc Jacobs Divine Decadence Fragrance $72

I feel like I have sampled this scent before, but I can’t find any evidence to back it up. Marc Jacobs describes this scent as sensual, luxurious, and radiant. I’m not too sure I agree with this description. I would describe it more as powdery fresh, it has a sugar powder scent to it along with cucumber undertones. I know it does not sound as good when I describe it, but I promise the scent is very appealing. I would not call it luxurious.

Nars Velvet Lip Glide in Bound $26

I recently just reviewed this velvet lip glide in Le Palace, which is a bright red. I am in love with this dusty rose color, it is giving me major spring vibes! This color is not as muave as I was hoping it would be, but I still really like it. Its only a tad bit darker than my natural lips so in the right lighting you can tell I’m wearing a color. Otherwise it just appears like I am only wearing a gloss. I really love the way this lip glide feels on my lips, it is so hydrating and feels velvety soft. I love the color but still upset with how unreliable this lip glide is and how easily it wears off. I had to reapply it 3 times within 5 hours.

Too Faced Lip Injection Glossy $22

I have not used lip plumping lip glosses since high school! But I love receiving a variety of products in this sephora play box and we have not received anything like this yet! I applied this to my bare lips and and it went on like a thicker glossy lotion cream and I instantly felt a tingly sensation and could see plumper lips. I definitely recommend this product if you can handle a strong burning sensation.

Sephora Lashcraft Length and Volume Mascara $12

I know I say this every box, but I am really get sick of how Sephora keeps including one of their products in each months box. I am so over getting their cheap products. I am not one to buy Sephora brand products and I would really prefer to try and sample out products from brands that I would actually use.

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream $30

This cream is made with coffee beans to energize tired skin, which is great when you are on the go and do not have time to have a cup of coffee. They recommend applying this in the morning or any time during the day you need a pick me up for tired looking eyes to make them brighter and depuff the undereye area. I absolutely saw a instant brightening to my undereyes but no sign of any depuffying.

Clinique Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer $30

A moisturizer and a primer? This is a great product idea for ladies who are always in a rush with their makeup and/or ladies who are lazy and do not want as many steps in their makeup routine. This moisturizer promises to blur imperfections and provide all day hydration. This went on much more like a primer than a moisturizer, I think it is quite misleading to brand this as a moisturizer over a primer.

Overall, this month was quite a fail for me. I’m always glad I got to try new products but nothing impressed me. What did you think of this months Play! box?

  1. Looks like a great box. I had to return my Too Faced Glossy Lip Injection because the burning was so bad and I never noticed a difference 😦 Such cute packaging though. xo J
