I honestly don’t think I have ever used Suave products before in my life. I always had a negative view on the brand. I always saw it on sale and in ugly cheap looking packaging, so I always stayed away from the brand with the impression of low quality. I really like the formula of the shampoo and conditioner, they were both a cream based product rather than a clear gel shampoo. I personally prefer the cream because I feel like it hydrates my hair a lot better and leaves it not feeling stringy as the gel shampoo would. I also like how the shampoo lathered up, for a cream shampoo it a little goes a very long way and creates a great lather. Suave definitely deserves more credit, I wouldn’t say its a high end product but I wouldn’t say its a cheap product either. It is a great value and my mindset on this whole brand has totally changed.
Leave in conditioner is a MUST for my hair, my hair is so long that it develops knots with just one head turn. I need a leave in condoner in my life but this one is just not for me. The formulation of the leave-in is a cream, which is my preferred makeup of a leave in conditioner, but this one leaves my hair feeling a little waxy and dry. It might be because of how strong the fragrance is in the product. On the other hand the fragrance is really strong that I can smell the scent of honey all day, which is something that I like. I always got compliments on how good my hair smells when I use my usual shampoo & conditioner, but I can never smell it! I just like how well it works and how it leaves my hair feeling.
I don’t want to say I don’t know why I had such a negative view on the Suave brand, because I do. Maybe it is just me that has always seen Suave as a lesser brand and is just now realizing that they have more to offer than their old ugly packaging and their low prices. Suave is a great value for the shampoo and conditioner and I’m really glad I got over my snootiness and got to try a product that really changed my mindset on the brand. Although I’m not their number one fan and not switching over to their leave in conditioner, I will definitely be looking out for their new products and other scents that I might like to try next!
