BeautyDNA Subscription Box – Review – July 2014

BeautyDNA is a fairly new subscription box company. They Only send you FULL SIZE products, which I love because I hate paying for sample sizes, samples should be free. The really cool thing about this site is that they match you to your perfect beauty products as you would on a dating site. You fill out a survey about what you want in terms of hair, face, and body products and list what you need help with and what scents you like and don’t like. They send you one to two full sized items for only $25 a month. How awesome is that!?!

There boxes are adorable!

AND even cuter on the inside!

image 5

They send you these little booklets that let you know about the product, what stores you can buy them at, how to use the product and why you have been matched to this product.

image

Phytokeratine Ultra Repairing Mask $39 I was so excited to try this hair mask out because my hair is thin and has a lot of breakage towards the bottom of my hair. Which is why this product was matched to me. I’ve only been able to use this product once so far but with the one experience I’ve had, I’m very disappointed. After using this hair mask my hair felt extremely waxy and difficult to manage.  I will be giving this a second chance only because I really want this to work for me, If this makes my hair the same way again I will have to pass this along to a friend.image 4

***

NOTE: For some reason BeautyDNA skipped over my subscription for July, so I had to contact them that I had not received anything. They replied the next day and apologized and told me that they would be sending out a box “immediately”, I received my box a little over a week after that email. I was upset because since they messed up with skipping over me and telling me that they were going to send out a box for me “immediately” I expected overnight shipping or some sort of discount. I contacted them again and they responded with apologizing for the delay and offered me my next month free and 2 day shipping. They have amazing customer service.

***

I payed $25 for this box and received $39 of hair cream that I hope I will grow to love! Are you going to sign up for your own personalized beauty box?

PetBox Subscription Box – Review & 50% off Coupon – July 2014

This was a one time purchase of a mini pet box! The cost was $6.95 or 3-4 Items retailing up to $19.99. You get to personalize this to your pet, by adding your pups name and size.

Get 50% off PetBox with coupon: PBROCKS50

It came in such a tiny discreet box, I was so unsure of what it was until I looked at their address. IMG_1742

There she is!

IMG_1743

Seriously, not at all what I was expecting

IMG_1744

Yay coupon book!

IMG_1746

Aussie Ear 100% Natural Water Buffalo $2.99? I couldn’t find this item on their website, so I am guessing on the price. Small dogs are not supposed to have these hard bones because they get stuck in their throat. My dog had to go under go surgery because of a similar product, so I will be passing this along to a bigger dog who can handle this!

IMG_1745

Vetericyn Wound & Skin Care Spray $0 This is a SAMPLE bottle not for resale! This is safe and non toxic and has no alcohol, steroids, or antibiotics. This is great because my dog is allergic to pollen and licks the hair right off his feet because he gets so itchy. hopefully this will keep his skin from getting irritated.

IMG_1751

Tropiclean Fresh Breath Bones $3.18 These look pretty big for my dogs, but my little yorkie loved it! She is currently chewing away at it! My bichon buried his for later. These treats are made in the USA and are all natural and gluten free, grain free, corn free, and wheat free. They have ingredients that mom approves of also! These are a all around win for my doggies!

IMG_1750

Grin For Dental Health $6.99 These are little clover shaped dog treats to promote fresh breath, teeth, and tummy! They are soft chews and are made with green tea – which I love – They are also made in the USA! My doggies love these treats! It must be licorice taste in these soft chews that my dogs just love so much!

IMG_1749

The Honest Company Cage Free Turkey, Vegetables & Fruits With Whole Oats $0  This is basically like oatmeal for your dogs! It is dehydrated dog food that you add warm water too. This item is made in the USA. My bichon loved this food! He devoured it in minutes but my yorkie would not even touch it.

 IMG_1747

The Honest Kitchen Free Range Chicken Vegetables & Fruits Grain Free $0 This is the same as the item above just with chicken instead of turkey. All you have to do is add water. This item is also made in the USA. My bichon loved this one also! He had this as a second course to the turkey! But my yorkie would’t touch this one either.

IMG_1748

This box was $6.95 and I have received $13.18 worth of doggie treats and care items. I was supposed to get $19.99 worth of stuff, so I really hope that they were not including the price of the free samples. That are even listed as “free” on their websites. I’m glad I got to introduce new items to my dogs that they actually enjoyed! What did you think of this months PetBox?

Escape Monthly Subscription Box – Review & $10 OFF Coupon – July 2014

Escape Monthly is a subscription box that send you luxury travel items from all over the world!

This month was INDIA!

The box is $45 a month. One of the subscribers will win a trip to the destination of the box’s current themed location! So, Good Luck! Remember to use YOURESCAPE to save $10 off you subscription each month!

I was very excited about this box because I’ve never been to India, so it was very nice to experience through this box!

IMG_1717

INDIA!

IMG_1718

First glance inside the box!

IMG_1719

Organic Grass Fed Ghee $2.95 At first I had no clue what this was, I thought it was baby food. But its actually “butter, made from the milk of a cow.” Which literally most butter is made from so I kind of confused as what makes this ghee and not just regular butter. I think its funny how the name of the company is Pure Indian Foods and yet it is made in New Jersey.

IMG_1723

Amber Perfume Oil $9 A little goes a very long way with this bottle! And thats great news since this bottle is only 5ml! Its very very tiny but luckily the scent makes up for its size! Its not a scent that I would have drifted to on my own, but I’m very glad I came across it in this box, it has kind of a musky scent to begin with, it kind of smells like grandmas – in the best way possible – it truly is a beautiful scent! If you missed this item, you can find it on eBay!

IMG_1726

Saffron Road Korma Simmer Sauce $3.99 This looks so, so, so, so good! This is NON GMO, Vegetarian, No MSG, and Gluten Free! Plus, there are only three easy steps to this extremely easy dinner! I can not wait to try this!

IMG_1724

Moon Travel Guide Taj Mahal, New Delhi & Jaipur $19.90 I understand that this is a destination box and that these boxes are supposed to have these books in them, but I just hate them, I feel like they are a waste of money and space. Although it is a nice book to have around if you are planning on visiting India anytime soon. You can find this item on eBay for less!

IMG_1725

Banyan Botanicals Healthy Hair Oil $14.95 This is a pre shampoo wash. You are supposed to put this in your hair and scalp 30 mins before you wash your hair. This is made out of organic ingredients, but unfortunately smells like cat pee! This hair oil promotes thick and lustrous hair nourishing for all hair types. I have thin hair and all of the reviews say that this will make your hair grow longer and thicker and even make your nails nicer. I’m all for this! You can find this item on eBay.

 IMG_1722

Nemat International Musk Amber Fragrance Sample $2 This is a sample from the same brand as the amber perfume, I feel like amber is a musky fragrance to begin with, so this is just a very overwhelming scent of grandmother. Its a very nice scent though – I do not mind having that scent around. Even though this is a sample size I know that it will last me very long because it is a perfume oil, so a little goes a long way!

IMG_1721

Banyan Botanicals Cedar Eucalyptus Trial Size Bar Soap  $.75 Wow they have this brand at sears! This soap is made with nutrient rich oils and organic ingredients. Hmm, in the pamphlet it list this soap as a full size item and I seem to have received the trial size. Did anyone else get this size too, or was that just me?

IMG_1727

Gouri Puja Indian Bindi $2 This was such a fun item to include! I immediately tore off the green one and wore it around for a few hours!  If you missed out on this item, you’re in luck! You can find this on ebay!

IMG_1728

Maya Kaimal Kashmiri Curry $7.39 It has such a nice spicy scent, it kind of reminds me of sloppy joes in a way. I really wish I could cook dinner with this. Unfortunately, mine opened in the box and didn’t spill too bad but this item needs to be refrigerated once opened so I had to throw this item out. I have contacted Escape Monthly and they have provided the choice of a new bottle or an extra 20% off my next box! They are so kind!

 IMG_1729

Masala Pop Chai Masala Popcorn $3 This is very good popcorn! I swear it taste like ginger snap cookies!I have been receiving a lot of popcorn in subscription boxes lately, so when I saw this I was like great another popcorn with spices. BUT this is actually caramel popcorn, which I have yet to receive from any subscription box. I really enjoy this one though, it is all natural, Gluten Free, Vegan and NON GMO corn. It also was inspired by original Indian tea recipes.

IMG_1720

This box cost $49 a month and I have received $65.93 of some really amazing travel items from India! This box truly makes me want to visit India so badly!

Next Month is PARIS! I can not wait for that box, I haven’t been to paris in years! I hope they include macaroons! It will be shipping August 18!

What did you think of this months box? Will you be signing up for the Paris box?

Dandelion Organic Crinkle Book $10.99 This is a 100% organic cotton “book” for newborns it makes a crinkle noise when you flip through the three “pages”. This toy doesn’t really make much sense to me, but hopefully my cousin will enjoy this.image 2

Ellovi Lip Butter $5 This lip butter is an item for the moms! It is made with 6 ingredients! Hawaiian coconut, sunflower, hemp, macadamia, Ghanaian marula and shea. Lucky Magazine raves about them! I can’t wait to try mine out!  Use Coupon: Bluum for 20% off

image 5

Booginhead Paci Pouch $8 I think this is such a waste of money. Why do you need to spend money on a little pouch to store pacifiers in? Why can’t you just put them in your baby bag? I’m not a mother, so maybe this just doesn’t make sense to me right now, but everyone else I know that is a mother just keeps pacifiers in their diaper bags. Also I really wish I got a printed one instead of just black.image 3

Soybean Solid SOFT Hat $7 This hat definitely lives up to its name, it is extremely soft and adorable! I can not wait to see my little cousin wearing this hat! I’m extremely excited about this hat!

image

Playtex Baby Dishwasher Basket $5.99 This is such a great item to have for little ones in your house! You can place your bottles, bottle nipples, and pacifiers and keeping them all in one place! This BPA Free basket that is easy to fit in every dishwasher. This product gets 4.7 stars overall and 5 stars for quality! I can’t wait to show this to my cousin, I hope she doesn’t have anything like this already!image 7

This box costs $29 and I have received $36.98 of amazing baby and mom items. I hope my cousin loves them as much as I do! What did you think of this months Bluum box?

Seattle Chocolates Total Toffee $3.50 This is the best chocolate toffee bar I have ever had. AND I’m literally obsessed with chocolate and toffee so I make sure to find the best kind, this is definitely the winner! On the side of the bar it says “what happiness taste like” I couldn’t agree more. Use the store locator to find a store near you!

 image 9

Raley’s Confectionary Treatsie Variety Mix $5 I always wanted to try these because they are so pretty colored. They aren’t exactly what I expected, for some reason I thought they would be chewy but they are more like hard sucking candies. They have little designs in the center of each hard candy to let you know what each of them are. Like cherry, lemon, apple, peach, some even have faces!

image 5

Shotwell  Candy Co. “Old Fashioned” Cocktail Caramel $3.50 This is not full size so I only received 3 caramels in this pack. These are extremely sticky and chewy and kind of leave you with a bad taste, its probably the bourbon in them, I’m not a fan of bourbon. If you want to order online they have a flat rate of $5.50 shipping fee which I think is extremely generous!

image 4

Seattle Chocolates Dark Chocolate $3.50 This dark chocolate bar is amazing. I’m a quickly becoming Seattle chocolates #1 fan. Everything is so delicious and creamy. its the perfect mixture of rich and bitter. They have so many flavors I would love to try! Use the store locator to find one near you!

image 10

Shotwell Candy Co. Hand Crushed Espresso Caramel $3.50 I’m usually a big fan of caramels but for some reason these aren’t really doing anything for me. They have a very artificial taste.

image

Seattle Chocolate Milk Chocolate Bar $3.50 I just realized that these bars are Vegan / Non GMO / and gluten free and use coconut oil! So my sister who is allergic to everything can actually have a select few of these candy bars! I’m so impressed with Seattle Chocolates! All of there chocolate bars are so creamy and silky and instantly melt in your mouth!

image 8

This box is originally $20 a month but with a discount I only got this for $4.95 and I have received $22.50 worth of really great discoveries! I’m really happy that I got this box and I think I will be renewing my subscription! What did you think of this months box?
